Volunteering in Kenya
My Travel Story
I am currently working with children part time whilst studying performing arts at college and I intend to pursue a career as a drama therapist with children.
This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, however, it's taken me a while to build up the confidence for it. However, now I feel ready for it, and strongly believe I can help make a difference.
The volunteering I am interested in doing while I'm there is helping assist the teachers in the schools. The teachers there work extremely hard, I'd love to be able to help them as they have limited resources. I also feel if given the opportunity, introducing drama to the children will benefit them as drama is an immensely useful tool in expressing yourself, channeling emotions and also it's great fun. Children of a young age aren't inhibited, so tend to enjoy drama based activities a lot more.
I want to contribute to making a difference, I want to spend time and learn from people who's lives are different to mine and I want to broaden my horizons along the way. I think this would be such a meaningful and life changing experience.
