My Travel Story

My name is Clare Cuenya and I am a rising senior at Coastal Carolina University. I am a Public Health major with a Pre-Health Professions minor and a concentration in Dietetics. This December I will be studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina where my Dad is originally from. I will be applying to Medical School in the 2025 application cycle. 

As a young girl growing up with a father from out of the country, I always loved to observe the differences in where he grew up and where I grew up within the United States. After my father passed away in 2019 to Cancer, I knew I wanted to learn even more about how he was raised in his country and more about his roots. I searched that path and found I was interested in helping others and wanted to do more for the community overseas in South America. I found myself very interested in Healthcare and gained a Pre-Medical focus in my studies throughout undergrad, in hopes of one day working in Argentina clinically to help those in need. I am passionate about this work because I believe there are many people over seas that do not have the adequate healthcare and would like to be a part of this to see a greater change. I am excited to learn the history within the cities Healthcare and to see the needs within the country of Argentina.
