As an International Liaison Officer (ILO) at the Regional Coordination Operation Centre (RCOC) in Seychelles, my participation in maritime security conferences is not just a professional development opportunity; it is a core operational requirement.

The RCOC functions as the "action arm" of the Western Indian Ocean’s maritime security architecture. While our daily work involves coordinating responses to real-time threats, these conferences provide the strategic "connective tissue" that makes those operations possible.

A regular  attendance to maritime security conference is critical to my role and the RCOC’s mission:

It will help me to strengthen human network to build trust needed to bypass bureaucratic delay during crises

It will help me to enhance interoperability of RCOC with National centre and different partner

It will allow me to be informed of the evolving transnational threats

It will allow to increase the visibility of the RCOC
