My Travel Story

by: Trista Mack Start Date: Jul 26, 2025 - End Date: Nov 25, 2025
I have always known of my French family across the globe, I have more cousins than I can count on my two hands, I've only ever met them on skype, between the lag and the language barrier I couldn't make much of them. I started learning the French language and studying French culture: art, cuisine, locations, history, fashion, etc. I've fallen in love with France. Many of my French relatives have died, I never got to say "au revoir" to my wonderful, kindhearted great aunt Denise, who would come to the U.S. every couple years. She died of brain cancer last year. Her husband, my uncle Eves, has not been the same since. Having never been to France... the opportunity to know my family in the place they call home, would be a dream come true. Learning more about my family and getting to spend time with them, practice my broken French, and my subpar chess skills with my uncle Alan, is truly my dream. Besides my dear family, there are many sights I desire to see of course. My partner and I have decided to become a cliché (french word lol) we thought the perfect place to commemorate our love for eachother would be none other than the most romantic city in the world, Paris. I know, very cheesy, very overdone. That's us. We are working long hours, saving, and planning, it's somewhat stressful but it's bringing us closer than ever before. If you like my reason for going on this trip and what it means to me, and you would like to support our trip, we are both incredibly grateful. I promise you, I will absolutely never forget what your contribution made happen.
