My Travel Story

Every supporter will receive a one-of-a-kind abstract painting as a heartfelt thank you.

Hello friends,
My name is Hanz, and I’m an international artist currently living in the Philippines with my wonderful wife. I’m fortunate to be here on a spousal visa, so my stay is secure. But right now, the person I need to focus on most is my mom.

She’s the only immediate family I have left after losing my dad to colon cancer in 2018. Since then, it’s been my responsibility to take care of her. My mom is here in the Philippines with me on a tourist visa, but her 3 years are nearly up, and her passport is also close to expiring. This means she has to return to South Africa soon to apply for a new passport.

The challenge is, we no longer have a home in South Africa, and arranging flights, accommodation, and basic travel costs are financially overwhelming right now. I’m working hard to sell my acrylic paintings internationally, but sales have been slow, and time is running out.
That’s why I’m reaching out here. With your support, we’ll be able to:

Purchase return flight tickets for my mom to South Africa
Arrange temporary accommodation while she applies for her passport
Cover essential travel expenses

I want to show my gratitude in a meaningful way. Every single contributor will receive a unique abstract framed canvas painting (4–6 colors of your choice) — an custom piece made especially for you. These artworks will never be duplicated, making each one a truly one-of-a-kind thank-you gift from me to you. Sending prints are much easier for customs to process and are more durable.

I will also be fully transparent and post proof of flight and accommodation bookings once we’re able to secure them.

This is not easy for me to ask, but your support — whether through a contribution or by sharing this campaign — will mean the world to us. It will ensure that my mom can renew her passport, remain legally compliant with her stay in the Philippines, and have peace of mind in a situation that has been weighing heavily on us.

Thank you so much for reading our story and for any support you can give. ❤️

With gratitude,

Hanz Human
