My Travel Story

My name is Lauren Debick and I have always had a deep desire to make the world a better place. I began my journey into eco-activism from a young age when I wrote a letter to the city council to try to persuade them from cutting down a tree in my neighborhood. Throughout my life, my passion for advocating for the earth has only grown.

I was blessed to have received a terrific education and all of my schooling focused on giving back to my community and taught me the importance of impacting the world for the better.

My passion for conservation is now focused on the oceans and marine life and I have been searching for ways to learn more about how I can impact the future health of our oceans and world.

I have found an opportunity through the Oceanic Society for a Dolphin Volunteer Research Program in the Bahamas in August 2020. I believe this opportunity would give me a chance to learn more about the marine conservation efforts in the Bahamas but also give me an opportunity to experience something that I will be able to share with my friends and family.

 I aspire to be a change agent and want to inspire others to take a step in the right direction for our earth and I think this experience would fuel that fire and passion.
