My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Dominique. I'm a 40-year-old single mother to two precious toddlers — both of whom have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Every morning, I wake up and give all that I have, and then somehow... give more. Between therapy appointments, meltdowns, meals, love, and late-night prayers, I’ve learned to live with my heart walking outside of my body — in the form of my two babies.

But while I’ve been pouring everything into them, I’ve also been aching quietly on the inside.
Because for my entire life, I’ve been asking a question that no one around me could answer:
"Where do I truly come from?"
"What is my spiritual inheritance?"

The deeper I searched, the louder the whisper became. It wasn’t just curiosity — it was a calling. Through years of ancestral research and spiritual awakening, I discovered that the majority of my bloodline is rooted in Nigeria. And slowly but surely, the whispers became a roar I could no longer ignore. I wasn’t just being called to study — I was being called to return.

Recently, I received a divination that confirmed everything my spirit already knew:
I must initiate into Ìsẹ̀se — the Indigenous spiritual tradition of my Ancestors.

I wept when I heard the words. Because for the first time in my life, I felt seen. Chosen. Reclaimed.

This journey is not a vacation. It is a spiritual rebirth.
A reclamation of everything stolen, hidden, and buried by history.
It is the moment where I, as a Black woman, a mother, and a daughter of the diaspora, plant my feet in the soil my Ancestors once walked — not just to heal myself, but to heal my lineage. To pass on to my children a sense of identity, culture, and strength that I never had the privilege of growing up with.

But the truth is: I can’t do this alone.

I’m humbly asking for your help — to get me to Nigeria for a 7-day sacred journey. Three of those days will be for the Ìsẹ̀se initiation, and the others will be spent visiting ancestral sites and walking the land of my people.

Every dollar raised will help me fulfill this divine assignment — not for glory, not for show — but for healing. For truth. For legacy.
