My Travel Story

My name is Olivia; I am 17 years of age and live in Kendal.

After hearing about the plight of abused women in Nepal and the suffering they and their children endure on a daily basis because they have been attacked, I have chosen to partake in a project that will help them to rebuild their lives without the need to beg on the streets.

On the 13th August 2016 I will set off to Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world, to join these women who have been cast out by their society.  Over a twenty two day period my physical placement will entail digging, planting, building shelters and feeding animals including buffalo, so that my support will help them to create a sustainable future for their family.

I will be located only 35km from the capital city of Kathmandu.  My fundraising will cover all costs of the placement and my action will empower the women to feed themselves and their children, giving them their pride back.

Any support you could offer will literally help to change and save lives.
