I would be very grateful for an opportunity to study abroad in Costa Rica. I have dreamt of studying abroad and traveling the world since I was a little girl and now is the time to make that dream a reality! I would be paying for this trip all on my own, but right now I can't afford most of the trip and I am trying really hard not to take out any loans. I have been working very hard to pick up shifts at my job and do side work at the same time as taking college classes, but it's just not adding up and the payment deadline is coming soon. Aside from how good it would feel to reach this goal of being able to afford the trip, it would overall be an extremely enriching experience. I am studying psychology and plan on becoming a therapist. This experience would teach me how to take on the world and get to know different types of people. It would open my mind and give me a better understanding of the world around me, particularly the people. I hope to volunteer while I'm out there as well, which would help not only the Costa Rican community, but also my commuinity back home because I would take back the skills I have learned. I am very passionate about this goal because I really want to understand the world. When I was young I would pray for experiences that would help me relate to people and understand others, and this could be an answer to those prayers. This experience would give me a better sense of self... a confidence that I could carry with me throughout my life, giving me the power I would need to have a positive impact and change the world. I would be so grateful for the opportunity to explore my creativity, adaptability, and interpersonal skills so that I can develop into a more well-rounded individual, and this challenge could be my greatest step forward. I will learn my strengths and weaknesses, and better embrace who I am and what I am truly capable of. I am ready!
