My name is Kaelyn and I'm 11 years old. I love to read, dance, playing video games and Anime! I like learning new facts that I can remember, and love quizzing my parents on it.

Japan has some of the longest standing cultural traditions in the world, and they have always peaked my interest! I'm currently in the fifth grade and next academic year I will be in 6th. My mom said if I work hard and keep good grades I will be able to do whatever I want in life. I am a straight 'A' student and have received High Honor Roll every semester so far, I work really hard to keep my grades up! 

While on this trip to Japan I really want to immerse myself in their culture and learn. I hope to explore different regions and take it all in slowly! 

I have been asking about traveling to Japan to study in high school for the last two years, at first my parents thought it was a phase and would go away. When they realized it wasn't they started looking into different options for me to safely travel abroad for a summer session. They found a trip with "People to People" that leaves in June 2021. We got really excited until we realized it was almost $8,000. That's a lot of money, but we decided to push forward and hopefully crowdsource the money and fundraise it. I will also be working around the neighborhood to do my own part as well!

We sincerely thank you for taking the time to read our daughters 'about her' section and hope you can understand we don't take this lightly, asking for financial help isn't in our usual nature, but we do appreciate any help at all. We just want to give our daughter the opportunities we did not have.
