Hi, my name is Teresa. I'm raising money to help fund my trip to Italy so I can see my best friend again. When I was younger, I had a best friend named Oliver. He and I were inseparable. We were the only kids on our block. We lived in the "bad neighborhood," as the other kids called it. It was the kind of neighborhood you'd walk fast in so you wouldn't get mugged and such. I'd invite Oliver over every day. He'd never pry about how we had sheets over the windows instead of blinds or how the AC made a weird noise when running. However, when we were 11, he moved back to his home country. We went years without talking. Recently, he contacted me. We started talking, and it was as if he had never left. We talked for weeks. One day, he suggested I come to visit him. We both brushed it off as a joke. We couldn't afford it. As we continued talking, it became a plan. As if not saying what if anymore, more of when.
