Vista Charter Middle School is committed to "Transforming the School Experience." The school encompasses a dedicated staff that genuinely care and wants the best for the students and community. Our commitment to building and fosterting young leaders and academic scholars is at the forefront of our mission and vision for the students of Downtown Los Angeles and the families within our community. We pride ourselves on pushing our students out of the school-to-prison pipeline.

We have a goal for our 8th grade students to experience how to utilize their own leadership abilities, in this vital stage of growth. It is for this reason that we are fundraising, along side our students, to raise money for a trip to Washington D.C. or Sacramento, C.A. for 3 days. We believe that this will be a life changing opportunity for many of our Leadership students, who are focused on becoming leaders in the classroom and in their communities. Students will have the opportunity to volunteer at a homeless shelter; work at a nursing home; and meet with a government agency to learn about human trafficking.

Most of our students have never been on a plane or traveled anywhere outside the Los Angeles area before. Since the start of the school year, the leadership students have been fundraising through hosting movie nights and are in the process of creating more fundraising activites like hosting a culture fair and teaming up with the after school program to help reach our goal.

Please help us "Transform the School Experience" for our students by sending them on this journey to learn about important leaders, leadership opportunities, and how they can make an impact at home.
