My Travel Story

by: Doug Rodely Start Date: Jan 4, 2025 - End Date: Jan 3, 2026
I can remember as a young boy back in the 80's my grandparents taking me to a different historic site every weekend, not realizing how much history the state of New Mexico has to offer. We would pack up the cooler with cold chicken and potato salad, and off we went! Almost 25 years later, I decided to revist some of those sites, and I am so glad I did! Today, my significant other Amanda and I are trying to revive this magnificent history by creating a website to bring awareness to the history-rich towns of the Wild West. Please feel free to visit our website as we are updating daily!   newmexicoghosttowns.net

We'd appreciate your help to support preserving as much as we can, while we can. On our previous visits, we have seen how rapidly these historic sites are deteriorating, if not being vandelized, and would like to visit and collect as much knowledge and as many photos as we can before there is nothing left but a distant memory.

Funds will go to a variety of things such as supporting website costs, vehicle upkeep, travel expenses, and we plan to make donations from the proceeds to ghost towns as we visit them.
