My Travel Story

My name is Tara Rocha. Three years ago, my mom (Nanette Eickholdt) had a stroke, and it really took a toll on her health. Around the same time, we lost my brother (Trevor Rocha) in a terrible accident, which devastated our family. She was mentally shut down.
 
During all of this, she was jumping through hoops trying to get approved for disability. When she finally got approved for disability benefits, she became so behind on her mortgage. We tried everything to seek help. We talked to every mortgage assistance program in our state, but since it's not COVID-related, they have no funds to help us. The lender suggested a loan modification, but because of the interest rate, she wouldn't be able to afford her monthly mortgage payment anymore.
 
In a last-ditch effort to save her home, she had to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy to stop the sheriff's sale. This is her first and last home. This home means everything to her, and she's doing everything she can to keep it. She even did mortgage classes. We have little time to give the bank $17,000. She will be homeless :(. We really need help, and we're just praying for a miracle. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen!
