My Travel Story

Leilauni & I have the opportunity to attend the Parents of Murdered Children Conference in Charlotte, NC. We attend support group meetings regularly and find comfort surrounded by the group members. We were fortunate to attend last year in Las Vegas, NV. We learned a lot and gained a lot of knowledge.

My cousin Peter Nick Serrano was murdered on 11/6/03. Leilauni never got to meet her uncle Peter Boy and that breaks my heart. My cousin Peter was a loving man and was especially kind and loving with the children in our family. I know she would have loved him just like she loves his older sister Michelle. I often sit and wonder, had he lived would he have become a parent in 2005 like the 7 of us that had babies that year. Our family was robbed of a Son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, & cousin.

We are hoping to attend conference this year for 2 reasons, one, to continue educating our selves regarding murder and the grief that comes from it. To strengthen the unfortunate bond we share with people who know exactly how we feel because unfortunately they were robbed too.
Two, North Carolina, specifically Mecklenburg County is where Leilauni became a possibility. I met her dad while attending school in Mooresville, NC just 30 miles north of Charlotte. I would love to be able to show my girl where her dad and I met. We just need a little help getting there. If you can donate we'd be forever grateful. If you can't, please consider sharing our page.
