HI! My name is Hannah. I am from Utah, USA! I am a senior at a local University and am studying Kinesiology and Pediatric Clinical Research. In summer of 2021, I will embark on a Research/Learning Abroad Experience provided by the University taking place in Ghana, Africa. The experience focuses on Global Public Health. I will learn about and see first-hand different cultural, social, and health issues currently facing Ghana. Additionally, I will learn about current public health issues including infectious diseases, nutrition, water and sanitation systems, and methods to health development and improving general health and quality of life.
During the experience, I will be able to interact and work directly with village and community members to understand and improve overall health conditions locally and participate in field work programs that focus on community health development.
This will truly be the most meaningful experience of my life. My career goal is to become a doctor and this opportunity will allow me to see a different side of medicine and research while applying myself and getting hands on experience studying Global Public Health in Ghana.
I am extremely humbled by the opportunity that I will have to care for people who have not had access to the same privileges that I have had in the United States. I am excited to better understand and help improve some of the Public Health issues plaguing Ghana, such as water sanitation systems.
I greatly appreciate anyone that can help with donations. Any donations will go directly to the trip including airfare, program cost, etc. Please donate or share if able. Even a dollar goes a long way! Thank you so much in advance. I am humbled and overly grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity and everyone’s kindness in supporting me.
