My Travel Story

Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

If you’re reading this—thank you. Your time and attention already mean the world to me.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been deeply passionate about education, service, and standing alongside those whose voices often go unheard. Whether it’s reading weekly to an elementary student through Read to a Child, volunteering at a local homeless shelter, or advocating as a Special Education Surrogate Parent—these moments have shaped my life and given me purpose.

This year, I’ve been given the opportunity to take that passion beyond borders. I’m using three weeks of my own paid time off to travel to Cusco, Peru, where I’ll be volunteering as an English teacher in underserved communities. I may work in local schools, community centers, drug rehabilitation programs, or even with first responders—wherever the need is greatest.

This journey isn’t just a trip for me—it’s a calling. One I’m funding entirely on my own, covering costs like housing, program placement, flights, vaccines, and more. While I can't use this time as official volunteer hours, I know in my heart it's time well spent—and deeply needed.
