My Travel Story

Volunteering abroad is an opportunity I have dreamed about for years, and I am finally taking a major step toward making it a reality. As a healthcare policy and management student with a 3.5-4.0 GPA and an active scholar in the CSTEP program at City Tech, I am dedicated to understanding how different communities access care, resources, and support. This volunteer experience will directly strengthen my future career goals in healthcare management and global health outreach.

This summer, I will be traveling to Rabat, Morocco, for a twelve-week volunteer placement in childcare. I will be supporting children who face daily social and economic challenges by assisting with learning activities, providing individual attention, and helping create a safe and encouraging environment. My intention is to provide these children stability, patience, and the compassion they deserve while learning from their culture and their resilience.

This project is especially meaningful to me because I grew up in a community where support was not always guaranteed, and I have spent years caring for my family during difficult health challenges. These experiences shaped my commitment to serve, guided my academic path, and inspired my desire to work in global healthcare settings. Volunteering abroad gives me the chance to extend that commitment beyond my own environment and gain a deeper understanding of how children and families are supported in different parts of the world.

Your support will help me cover essential costs including housing, meals, program fees, travel insurance, and transportation during my time in Morocco. Any contribution brings me closer to completing this mission and allows me to take another step toward becoming a healthcare leader who is grounded in real world experience, cultural understanding, and compassion.

  • Another Update

    Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by my page. It's been a while since my last update. I really appreciate everyone who has read my story, shared my page, or just came by to learn more about what I'm trying to achieve; and even though I haven't had any donations yet, I still plan to keep trying.

    I have been working on the steps for the program, learning more about the community I will be helping, and gaining a clearer idea of what my job will be when I get there. I’m getting more enthusiastic and kind of nervous the more time passes. This chance fits well with everything I've been learning and working toward with regard to my degree. I'm really looking forward to helping the little kids who are new to the world and ready to learn by being patient, encouraging, and kind.

    I realize that raising money takes time, so I'm being patient and hopeful. It would mean a lot to me if you could share my page with others or help spread the news.
