My name is Fredrick Reuben, and my journey began in Kenya, specifically in the heart of Busia County. Born and raised here, I've witnessed the challenges and struggles faced by our community. Busia County has long been marked as one of the most economically disadvantaged regions in Kenya, grappling with persistent poverty. But amidst these challenges, a seed was sown within me – a deep-seated determination to make a difference.

I pursued my education with passion, earning a degree in computer science. Through the years, I've discovered the vast potential that the online world holds. Despite the limitations around me, I managed to carve a living through online endeavours while staying rooted in Busia County. But it was clear to me that my success wasn't something I wanted to enjoy alone. It was this realization that led me to teach programming to others, sharing the skills that could pave the way to brighter futures.

However, even as some of my students thrived, a stark reality loomed large – internet access was a challenge that hindered their progress. The combination of poor connectivity and the harsh realities of life in Busia County meant that many were denied the opportunities that the online world had to offer. This was a puzzle I carried with me for a decade, tirelessly pondering a solution.

My dream is to bridge this divide, to empower the youth from impoverished backgrounds with the very tools that can unlock countless doors – the internet. With Starlink's recent arrival in Kenya, I see a glimmer of hope. Starlink's portability and ability to reach the remotest corners could be the game-changer Busia needs. It's not just a device; it's a bridge to a world of possibilities. With Starlink, I envision providing internet access to even the most remote places at a cost as low as $5 per month.

My aspiration is to install 10 of these transformative devices. The total investment, including purchases, installation and securing of the sites, is estimated at $25,000. It's a vision that holds the promise of transforming lives, of ushering in a new era of opportunity for Busia's youth.
