I have been longing to study abroad in France ever since I entered college, and it was not until this year (my junior year) that my university partnered with a new study abroad program that fits with my degree goals! I plan on studying in the summer, for a month, in Southern France. The opportunity to study abroad has always been on my mind, and now that I finally have the chance, I have one more roadblock in my way: finances. Being able to study in France will greatly impact my speaking ability, as I am almost fluent already; all I need is that last push of being surrounded by the language in order to reach my fluency goal. As a francophile, I have been enamoured by France and French culture for a very long time. And this destination, near the south of France, is an area where I would love to visit because of the climate and the the rich culture. This trip will broaden my horizons immensely, and I will be able to further my dreams of embracing the French language and culture even more than before. I was lucky to get a taste of France when I was in high school, having been there for a week to take in as much as I could in so little time. Since then, returning to France has been my dream, and I am so close to seeing it become reality!
