My Travel Story

Ever since I was a little girl it has been a dream of mine to travel abroad and see the world. I can remember my first trip I ever planned with a friend was to Finland when we were ten years old. Bitten by the travel bug very early on, a goal of mine is to be a well-versed culturally aware global citizen who has a broad perspective of the world. Now you might be wondering why I am telling you this, what relevance does it pertain to? Well I have found the most wonderful company, Performing Arts Abroad, and have been presented with the opportunity to realize this dream of mine as well as furthering my education and future career.

Performing Arts Abroad offers summer programs for arts students in dance, theater, film, and music, to get hands on experience in my industry either working in a touring theater learning aspect of arts management such as load-in and out, marketing, ticket sales, managing a performance space calendar, etc. or in working with an Italian dance company helping run rehearsals, polish performances, learn vital managerial tasks and skills, marketing and more! This is a six-week program located in the heart of Florence, Italy. To be able to have this adventure would be everything and more. Getting to have this experience would be the most incredible opportunity where I would be fully immersed in foreign culture and language. In addition to my internship I would take intensive Italian courses in order to converse with people while getting an in-depth, hands on look at how performing arts companies operate.

For those who know me, know that I do not find asking for help easy. I don’t like to rely on other people and generally try to do everything for myself, by myself. But I cant do this alone. Please know I do not ask this of you lightly, that it is difficult for me to not be able to rely on myself financially. Anything you could donate would be so greatly appreciated I don’t think I could ever fully convey my gratitude to you. If you would possibly share this page and help me reach my goal I cant even begin to say how much that would mean to me!

Thank you all so much!

My deepest love,
Tatum Lynne
