My Travel Story

by: Ongaya John Ombogo Start Date: Nov 8, 2024 - End Date: May 7, 2025
God put on my heart the children who have no where to call home, especially those who are abandoned and are left alone at the hospital for extended periods of time because most homes will not take children with disabilities or medical issues.

So when I got the call about a little girl with Cerebral Palsy who was all alone at the hospital I made the trip to Eldoret to pay her a visit. When a child is abandoned at a hospital here they are reliant on the mother in the next bed with her own child to care for because the nurses often are too busy to be able to meet all of the needs of a child who is without a caregiver. So I saw this tiny three month old girl (that was in March, 2010) who looked up at us and smiled. She was given the name Neema (God's Mercies) by the social workers upon her discharge and came to start her new life at our home .

It was a struggle to get her to feed well and gain enough weight  but with the help of nutritionist and her pediatrician we were finally able to get her strong enough.
Neema means God's mercies and we are excited to see what God will continue to build through Neema's life.  She is developing and learning at her own pace and has overcome so many obstacles. She is now able to communicate through signs and we ask that you please pray with us as we are trusting that she will gain the strength to start walking soon.
IT IS MY UTMOST DESIRE TO TRAVEL AROUND AND SEEK SUCH CHILDREN AND HELP PUT BREAD AND WHATEVER SUPPORT ON THEIR TABLE. I DO HUMBLY PRAY FOR YOUR GENEROUS FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO HELP ME MEET MY TRAVEL NEEDS.
