My Travel Story

Like most high school graduates, I had no idea what I wanted to do at uni. I just knew I was going. Four years later of swapping degrees, I have finally found something I really enjoy, Nursing. I have the opportunity to volunteer in Nepal at the end of this year.

This will involve a month long stay, sitting in on doctor-patient discussions and assisting other nurses and doctors with minor procedures and other tasks.

Nepal is rich in culture and will give me the experience of a lifetime with Mt Everest out my back window! Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, this project will help me contribute my time and skills to the local health clinic, as well as provide me with knew skills and knowledge that I can use in my future practice.

Once I am back, I hope to complete a prac in rural Australia and perhaps even one with the flying doctor. Then take my degree around the world and blog my experiences under 'Nursing Around the World - a holistic approach'. (This will also involve nursing around different parts of Australia!

If you want to keep updated with my nursing experience, send me a message or email and I can link you to my instagram where I will be posting my trip.

    Beginning My Trek To Nepal
Thanks to my first three donors! It means so much that you're interested in helping me nurse in Nepal. Two days a week I attend prac at a hospital and I enjoy every shift. I spend hours talking to the patients about their lives, interests and feelings and I can't wait to broaden my knowledge through conversation across the world.
