To benefit both worlds

I am a journalist who is looking to better the lives of children through education. Vietnam has been close to my heart. Many Vietnamese children cannot afford to go to school. Volunteers play an essential role in helping raise children's hopes, dreams, and future opportunities.

It is an honor and priviledge to play a part in their lives. In exchange, I will get the opportunity to learn about their culture. It is in the process of cultural exchange that we learn from each other and grow as individuals.

My pastor said to not only help them, but simply to be with them that mutual learning takes place. 

My trip will impact so many people. I will take out of the experience a love and respect for other cultures, broaden my horizons as a journalist, and play a significant part in healing a divisive world.
