My Travel Story
My name is Jessica DePriest, and I am an undergraduate student working towards my bachelor's degree in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences. My ultimate goal in life would be to go to Vet school, earn a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and open a wildlife sanctuary focused on the rescue and rehabilitaion of endagered species. Since I was a young girl, I have had an unwavering passion for helping animals, and that passion continues to grow more and more every single day. Recently, I came across an opportunity to gain essential hands-on experience with veterinary procedures and animal care, which I simply could not pass up. The program I am interested in will take me to Belize, where I will study under real Veterinarians, and gain experience that you can't get anywhere else. The focus of my studies will be on wildlife conservation, veterinary procedures, and the maintenance and care of endangered animals. This is a once in a life opportunity, and I would hate to miss out on such a unique and enlightening experince. The only problem is that I lack the funds to take advantage of this opportunity. I come from a large family, and money has always been tight. I am the first of my siblings to go to a real University, and the first to even consider leaving the country to persue a higher education. I would like the oppotunity to go to Belize to learn everything I can about my future profession, but I would also like to go to prove to my siblings that anything is possible. If you have the drive, the desire, and the motivation, then you can go out and do anything that you set your mind to. You can't let something like money hold you back from reaching your true potentail. I ask that you help me in this quest of self-improvement, and leadership. I have the drive and the motivation to be successful, but I need your help to get me to Belize. Anything that you can give will be extremely appreciated.
