My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Katie and in may I will be travelling to Sri Lanka to volunteer on a mental health placement run by SLV Global.

I am currently a second year psychology student at university and plan to go to Sri Lanka to help those with mental health problems as well as to teach english to children and adults. I will be working in a clinical environment such as a psychiatric facility where activities will be run to connect and help those with mental health and special needs.

Mental health is a worldwide problem, however in England people are fortunate to be able to gain guidance and help with any of these issues. Unfortunately, it is hard for the same to be done in places such as Sri Lanka and I would love to be able to help in any way I can with this. I hope to be able to make a difference with this and in these people's lives. 

As this is not government funded all donations are very helpful in assisting me at helping those that need it in Sri Lanka
