Hello, dear reader! My name is Jadel A. Dungog, a 4th year graduating as an honor student of BS Economics here at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. Since elementary school, I have been competing and achieving in national and international competitions with the generous sponsorship of all the public schools I have attended. Most recently, last August 27-30, my team and I championed the ATU-Net Global Technovation Hackathon 2023 at University Tekonologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

From this most recent achievement, I was offered an internship at UTM under our mentor during the above competition, Dr. Logaiswari Indiran (see middle person in this post's main cover photo). Primarily because of my performance in the competition, Dr. Indiran offered me a research assistantship position under her supervision, already waiving the tuition fee and providing me a living allowance to receive monthly upon the start of my internship.

While the internship offer I received is already generous on the part of UTM and Dr. Indiran, it will not cover all the costs of this internship. The other expenses I will need to shell out include my visa processing fees, airfare, and enrolment processing fees, which will amount to approximately $750.00.

We are a family of five with only one income earner - my mother. My father has been unemployed for nearly 25 years, my older sister does not provide us any financial assistance, and I have a younger brother who is still in school. We do not own the home that we live in, and we have no tangible assets whatsoever. What I do have is the academic excellence I work hard to maintain and the drive to make my dreams come true. And grabbing this opportunity of a lifetime to intern abroad and expand my horizons as a great 21st-century economist who can take on the world is my dream.

For all these reasons, is why, I am knocking on your heart to help my dream come true. I love my family, especially my parents, who are already 60+ years old this coming January. I want to provide them with a more comfortable life. But this is only possible if I can be a highly competent professional with skills, training, and experiences that can put me on the frontline of the job market. This is why I will fight until the end to achieve and excel in this prestigious internship, even though I am a simple girl from the provinces with no money to her name. And I hope you can also see the genuine place I am coming from for this and help me in any way you can.

Thank you for your time, dear reader. I appreciate you for it very much. I wish you a good life ahead. God speed!
