ASU Global Education summer program
My Travel Story
My name is Dignity Payne and I am a sophomore at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, AZ. I am majoring in architecture. I am a Dean’s List student. I am an African American female student.
I recently became aware of a global education program at ASU, As a student majoring in architecture this is a great opportunity to explore and learn about architectural designs in Europe. Program details are:
Summer 2023 dates: May 18 - June 2, 2023
Visit three beautiful European cities:
Barcelona, Spain
Paris, France
Venice, Italy
Earn 6 credits via guided field trips and on-site seminars
These unique cities are referential points to all contemporary disciplines of design. The program structure, with guided field trips, seminars, in-depth on-site analysis, and individual documentation of findings and reflections through sketchbooks will broaden the participant's perception of design as an active and dynamic part of larger cultural issues. Field trips are designed to allow the students to experience these sites and objects, while the seminars are designed to allow each participant to share their perceptions and discuss their research on specific points assigned by the instructor.
The cost of the trip is as follows:
The Program Fee for Summer 2023 is $6810.
Program Fee includes tuition for 6 ASU credits, housing, some meals, in-country transportation, entrance fees, faculty support, and international health insurance.
