My Travel Story

Hi everyone, my name is Carol greetings from Mexico,
I'm a university student in my third year majoring in international affairs.

Next year I'm planning on going abroad, the purpose of the trip is to take an internship in Japan it'll be for one semester, but the program fee and accommodation go a little bit higher than my original budget so that's what brings me here.

I am passionate about history, cultures, languages, migration, politics, environment, human rights, and so on, that is what moves me the most that's why I'm aiming to go to the other side of the globe to make me a more suitable professionist and make the most of me over there. I am certain that this is only one of many steps ahead for me but I'm willing to keep going to achieve my goals no matter what.

Also, the main reason why I choose this country, is because I believe they are a great nation and a good example of how we need to learn trust and cooperation, those things are fundamental for our society to keep developing. Of course, all countries has their own characteristics that make them special, but I'm very fond with this culture as well.

This program will not only help me develop my career but will also help me find a more objective vision of what can I contribute to our community. If you think about it it's like an investment for future generations, but not only that, we need to make a better world for our own sake and for them too.

Motivation to go outside your comfort zone
One of my frequent thoughts is that we should be able to travel around the world or to another country at least one time in our lifetimes, its something that positively impacts your life, it changes your perception about life and society. Of course, every experience is different but it surely changes you inside in some way, you might even find a purpose for your life, just like it happen to me.

    First cultural shock abroad
When I was in middle school I used to be in a band and my school organized a cultural exchange with a American school. That was my very first time traveling to another country, first they came to Mexico and even though we didn't spoke english so well we had a great time with them.

After a year or so, it was our turn, so we made our way up to Atlanta, everything was so much different, the roads, the houses, food, and the school was the most shocking part, can you believe kindergartens had iPads in their library? and even more shocking it was a public school.

Language really was a barrier for me to communicate well and even more with my hosts but somehow we got through , people were kind and funny, it left an indescriptible impression in me, and made me want to relive that experience.
