My Travel Story

Well hello there!
Let me introduce myself: My name is Riikka, a Finnish Music teacher, speaker and writer.

It was year 1997, and I was studying as an exchange student in a small village called Neil's Harbour, Canada. In my high school class there was a musically oriented guy called Jason, who I became good friends with.

When we graduated, Jason had written a beautifull song called "The Road" and I just loved the song. We rehearsed and as he played the quitar and I sang, we performed it in the graduation ceremony for the other students, graduates, parents and friends. 

The Road, the song tells about future dreams, heading out into life and more than that, a true friendship. 

I want to travell that road again and make a trip to Neil's Harbour to meet Jason there and record the song once again with him at the stage of gym hall in our old school and make a  video out of it to share.

I live currently in Finland, Europe, so to cover the costs of this journey I'm here seeking funding for this trip as Neil's Harbour is far away behind many stops and turns. The plan is to make the trip during summer 2024.
