Match my Grant from The National Endowment for Humanities!
My Travel Story
I am beyond honored to be working again with the National Endowment for the Humanities for yet another summer, doing first-hand historical research in an effort to bring new curriculums into the classrooms of my students in Mississippi. I am passionate about teaching history in a manner that eschews narratives in favor of deeper exploration of specific contingincies in an effort to show that history is ongoing and the experiences of various people groups are far from monolithic.
While the Grant I have been gifted goes a long way in paying for accomodations and travel expenditures, I'm about $1500 short in regards to what I will need to eat and pay bills while I am in Georgia doing my research. This is where you come in and where your help goes a long way. Any donation, no matter how small, goes to easing the burden of worry on myself and my family while I work to learn about new aspects of African American History in our country and bring new and meaningful educational experiences to the children of Mississippi.
