My name is Dima, I'm a Palestinian refugee who lives in Gaza. I live there along with 12 members of my family in a small camp located in the middle of the Gaza Strip. We've all lived through the terror of wars and suffered the traumas of losing a family member or a friend during these hard times. We've survived 4 wars in just a few years and it seemed the last one was the most atrocious and most destructive as many people have lost a beloved one or a place they once called it home. During the 2014 war, we had to evacuate our house to a safer place before our neighbour's house get completely destroyed and our house was partially damaged. This time, we couldn't as no place was safe. I personally didn't fear for my life and no one in my house did even though the area where I'm living in Maghazi camp was the most affected by airstrikes and bombings, thus the least safest. At the same time, no one was worried about losing the house as we all believed this wouldn't be a great loss if everyone was safe and well. However, I personally feard for my family's safety, for my 1.5 year old nephew and niece. I was afraid that I might lose one of my family, let alone some of them or all of them. The thought itself made me shiver in fear and now that's everything is over, I wonder how long the situation here will be stable for, how long it will be until I lose someone I love. Therefore, I'd like to move with my family to Turkey to start a new life in a safer place. If it's not for my sake, it will be for the children. We chose Turkey for many different reasons. It was an easy option since Palestinains can be granted tourist residence upon their arrival and the culture in Turkey is very similar to the one you see in the Arab world. It also has many Syrian and Palestinian refugees so it will be easy to integrate with the society and adapt.I really hope that everyone can help make this come true because we're in a great need for your help and support. Your donations will cover the tickets, housing, school and university fees for the first two years in Turkey. This trip will be meaninful to us as it will finally help us find a safer place to live and will make the transition  even smoother as we don't have to worry about the finances.
