My Travel Story

by: Madison Poteste Start Date: Nov 15, 2019 - End Date: Apr 1, 2020
I am planning to travel to Chintsa, South Africa this summer for a Pre-Vet Internship. As many of you know, I am going to school to pursue a career as a veterinarian. With that being said, veterinary school is very competitive. Not only do I have to maintain a high GPA, but I need to volunteer, intern, and gain hands-on experience with animals to help my chances of getting into veterinary school. This internship in South Africa is something I have been wanting to do for years, because I will be able to gain so much knowledge and hands-on experience working with animals. I will be working with small animals, large animals, reptiles, farm animals, and even wildlife. I have yet to decide which field of veterinary medicine I want to work in, so I am hoping this trip will help guide me in that direction. Not only will I be gaining knowledge and hands-on experience, but I will be helping and contributing to African animals. I will be working with many animals along-side a veterinarian Monday-Friday and have the weekends off to take tours. As a full-time college student, I do not have the funds needed for this trip. I need your help to reach my trip expense of $4,500. The videos I included are of the company I am volunteering through, the views of Chintsa, and an example of some of the things I will be doing on this trip. I am also including the link to this program, so that you can take a look at what I will be experiencing and maybe even decide to join me on this adventure to help animals in South Africa! Thank you for taking the time to look though my campaign. It is much appreciated!
