My Travel Story

Hi there,

I am Surya from India. Currently, I'm pursuing my master's course at the University of York, United Kingdom. Holding a master's degree from one of the reputed overseas universities is my parent's dream and I worked hard to come here to pursue a master's. I came here in the month of February with my savings (earned from 3.8 years job) and my father's savings. But unfortunately, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 gastroesophageal cancer and passed away in the month of May. My family had to spend all our savings on my mother's treatment as we don't have any other savings left behind.

My father is 65 years old. He is a daily wage earner and he left work to care for my mother. Now he is all alone and couldn't find any work to earn. No one is there to comfort him. On top of this, my education fee became a burden on him and till now we are unable to pay the overdue. I even couldn't attend my mom's funeral due to the lack of funds and travel restrictions. It is required at least 3500 pounds to visit my home country as after returning to the UK I have to be quarantined in London for which I have to pay around 2000 pounds and to and fro travel tickets I Request everyone to contribute and even a small contribution could help me to visit my home and comfort my father.
