My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Megan and I'm currently a sophomore at SUNY Genseo studying Neuroscience with a minor in Human Development. About a year ago, I joined the Sibling Peer Research Lab here at Geneseo. After only one semester of involvment, I was asked to take on the responsibility of Coding Group Leader for the Prosocial Behavior group. I was skeptical of my ability to lead this group but with a lot of time and dedication I was able to create our current presentation, "The Effect of Task on 7-Year-Olds' Prosocial Behavior Toward Siblings and Friends." With that being said, we have been accpeted to present our research at this years Association for Psychological Science Conference, a conference this group has not attended in years. I am proud of this accomplishment of mine and I would love the opportunity to present alongside other peers and professionals. However, the conference is being held in San Francisco, California this May. While this is an exciting place to travel, it has shown to be a very expensive trip. The small amount of money I was granted from the school does not even cover a plane ticket and our lab fund is being spread among many researchers planning to attend the conference. I'm hoping to raise as much money as I can in order to help ensure I can attend the conference. Anything helps, thank you!
