My Travel Story

It's my one in a million dreams to fly to Europe! I have finish a degree of being an English teacher but it is always in my heart that I wanted to do something more. Being in a different and advance environment will shape me into a well-rounded being. For me to make this dream possible, I have applied to be an Au Pair in Austria.

I fully know that this experience is way far from the education that I took, but I would like to challenge myself and experience something new. I want to build deeper connection from people by simply being part of their family.

It is easier for me to let people in and consider them as a family since I grew up with complete strangers that sooner I have learned to love and call them as my Family, my SOS family. Being in that institution for 21 years gave me a bunch of experience and stories from my fellow children that has been abandoned, neglected or abused by their biological families. And I have seen how each of us, children from SOS struggle to survive and fight for our dreams.

I consider my dream as a dream of my SOS family as well. I consider my success as their success as well. That is why it really inspires me so much to fly and dream higher because the more I strive for the greatest, the more I do best, and the more I inspire myself, that's  much more I get to inspire the people I love, especially my SOS family and those young children in the institution. I want my fellow SOS siblings to know that all of our dreams are valid. No matter what race, shape, size, color or even the level of intellect can never be a reason to stop someone from dreaming. And that is how I want to make a difference. I want a change of perspective. I would want them to know that everyone is equal and are very much entitled of dreaming.

I can say I am passionate of my Au Pair project because I know that my people could benefit from my experience aside from having the opportunity to develop myself into a better version of it. I am passionate about discovering the unseen and experiencing new things not because I want to make people jealous that I am having a great life rather I purely just want to inspire and make people believe that every dream is possible.

I chose to be an Au Pair in Austria for many reasons. But allow me to state the most special reason, and that is being close to home. The man that created the biggest change to thousands of children from SOS all over the world was born in Austria. The first SOS village that was built was in Imst, Austria. His name is Herman Gmeiner. He died before I was even born so I never got the chance to thank him so much for the help and unconditional love that he shared to us, the children of SOS. Me being able to go to Austria and chase for my dreams would not only make myself proud and my family. But will also make him the most proud. And this is how I would like to show him my greatest gratitude even if he is not here in this world anymore.

This Au Pair journey would really be meaningful for me because I know that I will learn a lot of things and I will be able to touch other peoples lives. This would be meaningful as well to my family because it will inspire them that all great things that they deserve can be experienced and this could also be meaningful to the people that I will meet along the journey because I would be able to share a part of me and as well as them to me.

I hope that you could help me conquer my dreams and inspire people!
