My Travel Story

I believe that healing is a necessity, yet it's something that we often journey through alone rather than leaning into the power of collective and communal healing. I have been afforded the opportunity to travel to Greece for a writer's retreat centered around healing on personal and communal levels. As someone who feels like I've been called to be a generational curse-breaker for my lineage, I don't believe that getting this amazing opportunity was just by happenstance. I believe that this opportunity came about to serve a deeper purpose. I will be spending a week in Greece, in conversation with like-minded writers whose work focuses on the theme of healing through storytelling. To have my voice amongst theirs would be an honor, and to be able to bring back what I gain from my time there in order to create more healing spaces within my own community is my desire. Along with writing, I was also given a generous discount in order to photograph the writer's retreat, meaning this trip will not only allow me to develop as a writer, but as a visual storyteller as well. If you'd like to contribute in any way, please know that I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and my work enough to help with this funding. I have linked my Substack for you to have a chance to read essays and get a feel of the work I do as a writer. I am trying to lean into the belief of things being possible for me — because they are.
