On the 26th of August I will be traveling to Sri Lanka to carry out a 5 week mental health placement, where I will be volunteering within the local community promoting positive mental health.

This placement is through the global mental health charity SLV Global, which aims to endorse and provide support in areas in which resources for those living with a mental illness are scarce.

In Sri Lanka I will be living with a local family, embracing their culture whilst working alongside clinical professionals in the local community and in schools. It will be my responsibility to organise and manage workshops, all tailored to suit each situation and individual need, in order to provide the maximum support I can during my 5 weeks.
