My Travel Story

Every single year I strive to be my best! My personal best that I received was in 7th grade when I scored over 100% and over the 4.0 grade scale as my cumulative GPA during the period of COVID. I am very determined and organized! My motivation is my mom. She was not able to go to college because she wanted to get a better life in America so I do my best not just to please her but to please myself. 



I am involved in tons of school activities. Last year, in 8th grade, I was student president and I handled all student inquiries and events. In 7th grade I was a part of the dance team and created the Sunrise Harlem East club to protest for climate change. Years before that I was also on the dance team and created the first ever drama club in my school. I strive to be extraordinary because anything else means that I'm not tapping into my full potential. Of course I have my faults. I can go into periods of non-commitments and feel really lazy but the best part of going so low is the fact that you have the ability to reach so high. In the future I would like to study sustainability and the arts. The arts are so important to society but if we're not doing it the "right" way we could harm ourselves. 




I'm also a co-founder of the Sunrise NYC Youth organization trying to fight for a better future for all. We recently were able to pressure Chuck Schumer into sponsoring the good jobs for all plans/CCC.

This trip is very meanigful to me because I've always wanted to move to France. However it wasn't a realistic idea for my family so the next best thing was to look into study abroad programs. I want to become a global citizen in this vast island of ignorance. You cannot beat ignorance with more ignorance. You can only do it through knowledge you've aquired. 




I am hoping that you could help fund my study abroad program for the spring 2022 in France. This opportunity can help me for college and beyond. The experience that I'll have is unforgettable but the cost is a huge barrier. I'm applying to the CIEE program and the cost is about 12,000 dollars. No one should be denied because of their background. Unfortunately that is what happened to me but it doesn't have to if you could help fund it. Thank you so much! I wish you the best.
