Senior Spring Break trip to Scotland!
My Travel Story
Over the years, I grew up into a still-curious girl with the occasional tendency to be overcome with wanderlust. As I am starting my last year as an undergraduate student at my university, I realized that I may not have time to do what I love for a while. It soon spiraled into reminisicing about childhood dreams and wishes and wanting to at least fulfill a few of them, starting with said childhood wish of visiting Scotland (and saying hey to Nessie).
Imagine my happiness when I found out that my major's department was hosting a spring break study abroad trip to Scotland in 2023. The week-long adventure would be taking me to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and day trips to Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands. I'd also be visiting castles featured in the hit TV series, "Outlander" (Midhope Castle, Blackness Castle, Culross and Doune Castle) that are said to have played a role in the Scottish narrative identity.
This seemed like the perfect senior trip before I entered the "real world". I would learn of the history of Scotland and exprience the vibrant culture while checking one item off of my bucket list. But I soon realized I am very, very short in funding and I've been trying to find ways to afford the trip. I'm not guaranteed to get scholarships and my family's contribution can only go so far so now, here I am, typing this long explanation as to why I need your help.
I greatly appreciate whatever you can give to this fundraiser so this girl from Oklahoma can live her dream for about a week during spring break.
