Elderly Care in Zambia
My Travel Story
Although I may not see a direct impact of my efforts on a large scale, I know I will witness the blessing I bring to the community members through their smiles, nods of appreciation, and laughter. I hope to spread kindness and compassion through considerate and attentive care.
I am passionate about this project because I have wanted to help people in Africa since I was 10. I remember reading a book about The Mercy Ships and dreaming of becoming a healthcare worker there since. Recently, through my job at Story Cottage Living in Indianapolis, I have developed a deep appreciation and love for taking care of elderly people. When I was looking for something to do over spring break – which originally started as anticipation for a vacation, I saw this project for elderly care in Zambia: how perfect!
