My Travel Story

Hello everyone :) As many of you know, I am pretty passionate about the things I set my mind to but if you're new here my name is Reiza and thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. If you've been on this platform before with me welcome back and thank you for believing in me!

Once again I am taking the time to volunteer during one of my trips, I did Greece before and that was my first time to volunteer and "see the real world" and it was really a humbling experience after that trip I told myself that I'd be working my ass off and raising money to give myself the opportunity to volunteer in as many countries as possible. When I came back from my first volunteer trip I knew that I wanted to start up my own little community in my own country, Philippines but I started getting into "adulthood" right away and worked when I got back last May 2019 and honestly have been so caught up with work, it's been so crazy busy these past months that I haven't really started anything at all.

Now this time next month I'll be in India, and after months of stress, struggles, mistakes of trying to be an adult I’m happy to be finally doing something for myself again that I've always wanted to do. I was gonna go for a vacation to take a break from everything work related. Honestly, I was really getting to the point of burning myself out. So I booked the ticket to India one random night to just take a break from all of it, then I thought what better way to spend my "break" than to volunteer again. Just like what I said in my old campagin. Hit 2 birds with 1 stone right?

I have chosen to volunteer in India, with an organisation called Love Volunteers. I was honestly just gonna go on vacation and see the beautiful country but since I know how much help is needed in most parts of India I spent the last week researching and looking for a community that I really believe in and I think this is the right fit. They focus on a lot of major programs. But these 2 are the programs that really caught my attention. Women Development, where in they care for girls who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse. Living in a male-dominated ‘classist’ society, this is a common problem in India. Childcare & Development where in they support and aid children who have been through a lot of mental, emotional, physical difficulties that they have been detached from the joys of childhood especially girls because of the gender bias in India. They also have Street Children Support, Education Support and a lot more.

These two programs really appealed to me because I believe that kids and women will change the world. I chose to be part of either the Women Development or Childcare & Development because I resonate well with that and I'd love to be supportive of individuals who need it most and as cliche as it sounds I'll quote the adage "Be who you needed when you were younger." That simply explans everything. All the proceeds of the required program fee and application fee will be donated to the children.

I'm also just another 23 year old stupid young adult but I know what I want to do with my extra time and this is it to help out as much as I can when I can. I've seen so much of the world, have a place I call home, food in my belly, an education. Many of the displaced people in India do not have this. My primary goal is to help anyone in need and ensure their well being, comfort and safety and make their lives a little bit better. I want to make use of my knowledge and passion for the world and life in the best way possible. Being from a third world country myself, I know and see how it is with my own two eyes.

This is my second volunteer trip and I'm more excited to help out than scared. I was really nervous during my first volunteer trip in Greece but when I got there everything just went naturally and I was really happy with the outcome.

I am back here because again I want to do this solely on my own without the help of my parents, just like my previous volunteer trip. And it really is more rewarding this way. My expenses for the trip I've already dealt with (visa, plane tickets, insurance whatnot) So the funds will go towards the program fee which will go to the children directly. The reason why there is a program fee is because Love Volunteers will provide the accommodation and my meals unlke in Greece all expenses were shouldered by me. In exchange of the program fee I will be part of Love Volunteers, staying in their volunteer house and help out as much as I can.

Thank you for any donation that you can make, big or small or even just by sharing the link. Every amount of help counts and I guarantee I will do everything I can to make the greatest amount of impact with those I cross paths with while I am in India. I have an intense passion for travel, teaching, learning and personal growth. I believe I was put here to help others. Volunteering in India will allow me to carry on the spirit of giving back, or pay it forward.

To raise funds for my volunteer trip I will be:
Selling my old clothes bags and shoes on Carousell
Using the money I earned from Youtube
Use money I've earned from my travel company
