My Travel Story

I am volunteering in Ghana this August through the Global Volunteer Network.  GVN is a non-profit organization that places volunteers all over the world to assist people in need, including children. I will be working in Ghana for two weeks at an orphanage located in the town of Awutu Bawjiase. The orphanage was started in 2007 and has grown to house more than 30 children, ages 3-15.  I am looking forward to teaching, playing, and working alongside the children.

I chose to volunteer in Ghana because it is known to be the most peaceful country in Africa and full of culture.  When I return home, I hope to share my experience and what I have learned about the people of Ghana, so I can continue to make an impact in the United States.

Your donation will provide the children from the orphanage with basic items such as, toiletries, school supplies, clothing, toys, etc. and will help to fund my trip. My mission is to raise enough money to purchase a month's supply of food, water, school supplies and basic necessities for the children living in the orphanage. It has always been a dream of mine to volunteer in Africa and to give back while experiencing the uniqueness of different cultures. With your help I can finally make that happen!

Thank you for supporting me and the children of Ghana.  Your support will make a difference to these children.
