My Travel Story

This summer I will travel to Kenya for three weeks with the West Chester University Social Work Department. While in Kenya, we will participate in a cultural immersion course, work a short-term field placement in a social service agency, attend a regional social work conference, and enjoy a few excursions as well. The excursions we will be visiting are an elephant orphanage, a day on safari, and the equator! I am so excited to experience another area of the world, and learn firsthand about social work practice internationally. I have been blessed to travel to a neighboring country of Uganda in the past, and I fell in love with the beauty of both the people of Africa and their culture. The opportunity to return to Africa and learn even more about their culture and practice is incredibly exciting for me.
