My Travel Story

by: John Price Start Date: Jul 30, 2019 - End Date: Jul 29, 2020
My name is Sharie, I am a caregiver for a 48 yr old man by the name of JOHN PRICE from Bagdad, FL who suffers from an inoperable Grade III Antiplastic Astrocytoma Brain Tumor & a severe case of Adrenal Gland Failure resulting from radiation following his 2nd surgery in 2016. Johns prognosis is not good so I am reaching out for donations to help make his remaining time as enjoyable & comfortable as possible. We began traveling in April giving him the chance to see what he can of the world while he is physically able. He's a humble man with a very gentle "old soul", a country boy that has always worked hard & helped others in need without asking anything in return. After 2 brain surgeries there is nothing more they can do for him. He has stroke like paralysis on left side of body, bilateral dbl vision & tremors on both sides which is progressively getting worse by the day & high doses of steroids are the only thing keeping him alive due to AGF, thats a roller coaster in itself. Were on a VERY limited SSD income that runs out much faster than anticipated with gas prices, unexpected costs on vehicle/camper wear & tear not covered under warranty (of course), parking to go sight seeing & the price of campgrounds is not cheap! No non-resident or disabled discounts that we have found except in FL & National Parks which are usually over booked with little to no hookups. Normal campground fees are $75-$100+ pr day which is totally impossible for us so we boone-dock "allot" parking overnight here & there when/where permitted (Walmarts, Cabellas, truck stops, hospitals, etc) with no hookups. Sadly this journey is going allot slower than expected because we have to be ever so conservative with spending... no paid tours or museums anywhere for us! We go in the hole just to dine out once a month if were lucky. Although we knew it would be a huge sacrifice doing this its by the grace of God that weve made it this far. It's been such good therapy & a great experience for John as he's never traveled much due to working. I refuse to leave him sitting in an assisted living facility as long as he can walk & I am able to care for him, he deserves so much better. Any help is appreciated & if you would like more detailed information please feel free to ask. I have many more photos & a recent  video of how bad his tremors & targeting have gotten, that I will be subitting as soon as I get a good internet connection for wifi.

This is all about Johns journey for a new tomorrow so please help if you can. Thank you for taking the time to read.
Sincerely, Sharie
