My Travel Story

Hi there, thanks for clicking to read. I'll try and be super succinct. I've just finished school. I never thought I'd get it, but I interviewed for a super selective internship on the other side of the world (only three people are selected) and I got it! I'm a little hesitant to give all the details on here for privacy purposes. I knew my family both couldn't afford it and are not supportive of me going, so I knew I'd have to fund it all myself. I interviewed for a job at a law firm in my city and got it, began working super hard, and quickly realised my boss wasn't a very nice man. He'd yell a lot and threaten to fire me pretty much every day, and I only found out later he'd been diagnosed with bipolar (not his fault, but explains some of the behaviour). He's now refused to pay me, and I don't have the money to get a lawyer and sue, so my income is totally gone, and I have no way to support myself. This is super gutting because I really thought this internship would be my way to leave home. I love my family, but I need to leave as soon as I can, just for the safety of everyone in my house, because the environment over the years has gotten extremely toxic. The internship is really exciting too, and it's definitely going to help me get into college. I had everything planned out and I'd be there right now if my boss hadn't refused to pay me. I've budgeted the whole trip and the costs come out to just under 18.5k in my local currency. I'd really appreciate anything anyone can contribute. Thank you and God bless.
