My Travel Story

Our cousin, Verica, has always had an interest in wildlife and marine biology. She's been very passionate about preserving marine life and cleaning up the oceans her entire life, but has never actually had the opportunity to visit the ocean. Last spring, Verica had planned a trip with her sister to travel to Florida to explore the area and volunteer at a local turtle sanctuary. Unfortunately, her trip was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and she was unable to attend. She wants very badly to plan another trip, but she, like many, was hit very hard financially from being laid off during the summer due to covid-related downsizing. This spring, my cousins and I would like to present her (and her sister) with a surprise trip to Miami, Florida for her 21st birthday. There, we will plan trips to local turtle sanctuaries and volunteer with the night hatch safety crews. We are very excited about the idea, as it would allow Verica to live out her passions and would also give all of us a chance to donate our time to helping sea turtles and marine ecology. Miami, Florida is the perfect destination for this as there is an abundance of beaches designated specifically for sea turtle hatching, and there are a multitude of turtle and marine sanctuaries nearby. We currently do not have the funds to make this trip happen, but we are hoping to still have the chance to follow through with this idea.
