My Travel Story

Hi Friends & Family!

As many of you know, service to others is something that brings me joy and fulfillment. I believe that the honor of being a volunteer comes with an obligation to help the underserved. I'm excited to announce that this May I'll be traveling to Tanzania, Africa on a volunteer trip facilitated by IVHQ, an international volunteer organization. I'll be working alongside teachers and other volunteers everyday to help keep the children safe and happy. I'll be fundraising to buy the children a bunch of different goodies prior to the ship so I can help them during the week. For example, simple things like scissors, crayons, coloring pencils, coloring books, glue sticks, paper, pens, and much more. Where I come from, I never had a problem with any of this. Never had a lack of materials or clothing. Never had a financial issue. Never had a hard time putting food on a plate. I want to help children feel loved every second that I am there. I chose this location because after doing much research, I can tell this location will be perfect for me and the children I want to help. I intend to use my babysktting skills & bubbly personality to positively impact each & every child I encounter. The ability to do this and make a difference will truly make me look at life a totally new way.

I am very excited for this opportunity to share my time, but I cannot do it alone. I would love for you to be able to share in this experience with me. I'm seeking donations to cover travel expenses, accomodations, vaccinations, insurance, supplies and fees. This work is unpaid and I am doing it alone as a volunteer. As important as the financial aspect is, I will value your prayers even more, not only for me but for the entire team in Tanzania.

My project will last 3 weeks, 5 or more hours a day, 5 days/week.

Here in Africa I will be making a difference and assisting children every day with anything and everything. I will be helping them at school, playing with them on a day to day basis, and just bringing them joy in general. Putting a smile on their face will put a smile on mine:)
