Engineering Water Treatment Study Abroad to Quito, Ecuador
My Travel Story
I am a student at North Carolina State University.
I have been presented with a unique opportunity to travel to the capital city of Ecuador, Quito, to research and determine solutions for the problem of dirty drinking water in the region.
Currently, over 97% of water is untreated and dumped back into rivers and lakes. Only 83% of people have access to potable and quality drinking water, and this number decreases to around 55% in rural areas.
This is an 8-day trip between the 8th and 16th of March, 2024.
This is also a brilliant opportunity for me to explore a new culture, improve my Spanish, and tackle the world's engineering challenges.
Even the smallest donations help greatly.
Thank you!
