My Travel Story

Hello Amazing People! My name is Evie and I am currently working towards my MSW (Master's in Social Work) so that I may go on to become a School Social Worker. I have wanted to work with at risk youth for quite some time and had just come to the realization within this past year that Social Work is the best career path for me. In order to earn my degree, I have to complete a practicum, which refers to field experience. The minimum number of hours totals to 1,000, which would take about a year to complete.

The city of Melbourne is known to be very vibrant, culturally diverse, and full of opportunities to gain on hand Social Work experience, which is why I chose this city to do an internship through Intern NZ OZ as they offer the opportunity to do an internship year long whereas other organizations only do up to 6 months. I personally have never been outside the United States and have wanted to expand my global perspective since I can remember. Being able to work with students from all different cultures and backgrounds is important in the career of Social Work, and I believe Melbourne is the best place for me to do just that. This funding will go towards housing expenses, tuition, travel costs, insurance, groceries, and any outings Intern NZ OZ hosts for interns.
